What's "Pho" Dinner?

TheBF and i were looking for dinner (or should i say something more affordable) at Raffles City SC on a Sat evening and chanced upon this Vietnamese restaurant, Nam Nam Noodle Bar. I always see a Q forming outside this place during meal times so we decided to join the Q since their pricing looked pretty affordable as well.

Full house within the small restaurant!

Pho Beef Steak Slices for me
Tender beef slices with rice flour noodles =) I really like the sweet and tasty broth, which they claimed (on their menu) is MSG-free! This being the very first time i've ever tried Vietnamese cuisine, i am truly impressed! A simply noodle dish but a satisfying one for sure.

TheBF had something similar, and went for the Pho Beef Balls, instead of beef slices. If you are caught in a dilemma between having beef balls and beef steak slices, i would suggest ordering one of each with your friend/partner then exchange meat so you will end up with a little of both, just like what we did. Best of both worlds! =P

Vietnamese Iced Coffee
We were both shocked to see the cup half-filled when it arrived. Yes, this was the exact portion we got from the waiter! After clarifications with the waiter, it seems that Vietnamese coffee is supposedly really strong in flavor and thick so all the iced coffee is served this way in NamNam. Although i would have preferred to have my cup filled to the brim, the coffee tasted great so no complaints there ;)

The only disappointment that evening was the 3-color dessert. Tasting a little like our very own Chendol, it was just alright? Maybe my coffee was so strong it messed with my tastebuds a little =/

All in all, a great dinner! Prices at NamNam are inclusive of GST and there is no additional service charge!! Woohoo! ;) Shall head back to try some of their other dishes (Vietnamese popiah maybe?) in the near future!

Until next time~
